CONGRATULATIONS, JUSTIN!!

On November 5 in Toronto, the Faith Coalition’s executive director Justin Remer-Thamert received the Justice Award from the Parliament of the World's Religions. The Justice Award recognizes “an individual or organization whose commitment to interfaith cooperation has demonstrably advanced justice in the world.”  Congratulations, Justin!  We are so pleased that your good works and accomplishments have been recognized – and at such an important event.

The Parliament of the World’s Religions was created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world. It is the oldest, largest, and most inclusive interfaith event in the world, and is known as the ‘mother of the interfaith movement.’ The first Parliament was held in Chicago in 1893 and 100 years later the second Parliament was held, also in Chicago. There have been 5 Parliaments since – Melbourne, Cape Town, Barcelona, Salt Lake City – and now Toronto. Over 7,000 persons attended the Toronto Parliament.  Donna Kangeter, a volunteer with the Faith Coalition (and several other organizations), believing Justin deserved to be nominated for the Justice Award, transmitted his nomination to the Parliament in September.

Thanks, Donna!
